Bump to Birth Pregnancy Pilates

Small reformer Pilates classes for women at any stage of pregnancy who want to maintain fitness, promote mobility and strength, and feel supported and guided through their pregnancy exercise. In particular these reformer classes focus on preparing the body for birth AND for the postpartum recovery.

While not essential we highly recommend booking an Initial Consultation prior to starting our pregnancy Pilates classes.

 

In these classes you’ll…
Tap into your mind body connection
Strengthen your upper back, shoulders and arms in preparation for feeding, lifting and rocking your baby
Encourage mobility in the tissues of hips and pelvis to prepare for birth
Prepare physically for birthing and all the squats, lunges, leaning and lifting associated with parenthood
Feel educated on the role of the core strength, pelvic floor and the abdominal wall in pregnancy exercise, birth and postpartum recovery
Learn the tools for moving your body in early postpartum

Important information about prenatal classes
You should seek guidance from your healthcare provider prior to joining pregnancy Pilates.
Group Pilates classes for pregnancy are not suitable for cervical cerclage, multiple pregnancies, heart/lung conditions, or placenta previa- reach out here to discuss whether our clinical pilates sessions might be a suitable alternative.
We highly recommend the support of a womens health physio or pelvic physiotherapist throughout pregnancy- like those recommended on our studio friends page.
